Telling The Whole Story

Our mission stretches between ancient earthworks and present-day freedom songs. We honor Native communities, enslaved Africans and their descendants, European settlers, migrant workers, and many others whose lives shaped this Delta soil. We name the hundreds who marched, taught, cooked, printed flyers, and opened homes for civil rights. By lifting these intertwined stories, we invite visitors to see Mississippi as a complex, ongoing multicultural community.
